The SR50 is a family of 5-bit adjustable
synchronous, step-down switching regulators for CPU power. The 5-bit
digital-to-analog converter (DAC) programs the output voltage required by
most VRM converters specified by CPU manufacturers. The output can also be
customer defined. The synchronous rectifiers operate at 400kHz switching
frequency, which can be synchronized to an external clock. Other standard
features include over/under input voltage protection, thermal protection, short
circuit protection, output overvoltage crowbar, burst or continuous mode
operation, power good and transient loop optimization. The multiplayer PCB
minimizes thermal resistance. The input voltage range of these converters
can be from 3.3Vin to 12Vin with standard input ranges of 3.3, 5 and
12Vin. The
output can be programmed by the VID codes to conform to VRM 8.1 to 8.4
output voltage or be set to any other customer-specified programmable
output within 0.9Vout to 5Vout. The standard output VID programmable range is 0.9Vout to
2Vout or 1.3Vout to 3.5Vout. Ideal for Desktop Computers, Notebook and Palmtop
Computers, Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), Mobile Intel® Pentium® II
and III CPUs, Low-voltage Adjustable Power Supplies, and Reference
Supplies for DDR SDRAM.
