Bridgewater, MA - Beta Dyne is proud to introduce the FSR5 series of Wide Input / Wide Output, Step-Down Switching Regulators. The FSR5 Switching Regulators offer a unique combination of features that increase their versatility and suitability in a variety of applications. The series consists of fifteen models and offer an output power range from 2W to 22W, a wide input voltage range from 4.5Vin to 18Vin and a wide output voltage range from 1.0Vout to 5.5Vout.

The FSR5 features regulated, adjustable output voltages (up to 4:1 for the 1.8Vout models), efficiency up to 96%, over load protection (125% full load typical), continuous short circuit protection, remote On/Off control, a 300kHz switching frequency, an optional auto sense feature and an operating temperature range of ­40° to +85°C.

The fifteen models are further differentiated by their output current of 2, 3 or 4 amps as is reflected in the new model number format. For example, the "FSR521.2" model number consists of the "FSR5" product family, "2" amps of output current and "1.2" volts of output voltage.

Another sign of the FSR5's versatility is their ability to be used in parallel operation to provide greater levels of both output power and output current (up to 8A maximum). As long as the output voltage of the two converters is the same, increased output can achieved.

The case and pins are available in either vertical or horizontal configurations and come housed in an industry standard 12-pin SIP package measuring 1.27 x 0.59 x 0.36 inches (32.20 x 15.00 x 9.10mm).

Units are available 4-6 weeks ARO. Prices start at $13.00 for the FSR52XX, $13.90 for the FSR53XX and $14.90 for the FSR54XX. Discounts are available for larger quantities (All prices in USD).
